Good luck to our SMS Cross Country team who competes in IESA Sectionals this morning at the General Dacey Trail in Forest Park @ Shelbyville! Girls race begins at 10 AM and the Boys race will begin at 10:45 AM. #OneTribe **Spectators are encouraged to arrive by 9:30 for the event as it is a busy day in the park with a parade also occurring. If they do not arrive by this time, they may not get into the park. Spectators will be able to park in the parking lot immediately to the right when they enter the park at the baseball diamonds or at the pool parking lot. Signs will be posted. **

Schedule Update (10/16): Next Wednesday's 5th and 6th Grade Girls Basketball game @ Mattoon Middle School start time has been pushed up to 5:00 PM for 5th grade game, followed by the 6th grade game. Bus departure time is now 4 PM. #OneTribe

5th and 6th Grade Lady Redskins Basketball tipped off last night! Both levels played excellent games vs Tri-County. The Lady Redskins are back in action at home again this evening vs Mattoon starting at 6 PM in the SES Gym! Be sure to come check out a game or two this year if you get a chance! Ms. Basham's class filled our bucket and earned a cotton candy party today! They have worked hard, have been kind and have been leaders everyday 🩷🩵

2nd grade reads the book, The Wild Robot each year. This year, with the movie coming out, they got to go see their favorite characters come to life at the movie theater.

Last week, Mrs. Becker's class had so much fun at the apple orchard. A huge thank you to our PTO for making this happen !

SES dress-up days for the week of Homecoming.

Preschool was excited to start Guest Readers again! Thank you to Mrs. VanDeursen and Miss Sullivan, Sarina Voegel for being our September readers!

SES Art Club begins this week(9/17 & 9/19)! 4th grade students will meet on Tuesdays and 5th grade students will meet on Thursdays. We will dismiss students at 4:00. Parents can pick their student up at the East Entrance by the SES office. Please park in the parking lot and walk to the doors to pick your child up. We are excited for a great year of SES Art Club!!

Free Family Resource Expo offered by EIASE on September 19th, 8:30-2:30pm.

After reading “David goes to School" Mrs. Becker's class made their own David’s and wrote ways he could be a good student!

SES will be focused on recognizing student leaders this school year. These students were chosen by staff members as "Kindness Leaders" and were recognized in front of the whole student body.

In September, SES will focus on being Empathetic to others. A trait that is important at school, home, and everywhere!
